The Japan National Tourism Organization hopes the re-opening of an iconic Ferris wheel will draw more tourists to the Osaka Metropolitan Area. Osaka’s world-famous Dotonbori Ferris Wheel just re-opened to the public on January 19th.
Built in 2005, the Dotonbori Ferris Wheel was only active for about three years before it was closed due to a technical failure. Sometimes called the Ebisu Tower, Dotonbori Ferris Wheel is located alongside the Dotonbori River by the popular convenience store Don Quijote.
This incredible Ferris wheel reaches a max height of 250-feet and has a total of 32 pods guests can enter into. On the 15-minute ride around this Ferris wheel, tourists get a great view of the Osaka skyline. In particular, guests say the Ferris wheel offers a stunning view of the Abeno Harukas skyscraper (aka Abenobashi Terminal Building).
Around 4,000 locals applied to test ride the Ferris wheel last Wednesday. Don Quijote executives say this test run went smoothly and there are zero safety hazards.
Anyone can ride on the Dotonbori Ferris Wheel any day of the week between 11AM and 11PM. Tickets cost only ¥600, or about $5. Sometimes this Ferris wheel is closed due to inclement weather, so check online before booking your tickets.
Employees at Don Quijote hope the opening of this Ferris wheel will drum up business in the area. The renovation efforts to this Ferris wheel cost Don Quijote approximately ¥250 million, which is roughly $2 million.
Osaka is a large port city in the south-central region of Japan. Besides the Dotonbori Ferris Wheel, major tourist draws in this city include Universal Studios Japan, Osaka Castle, and the Kaiyukan Aquarium.

Fishing in the world’s many lakes has been impacted by many environmental changes. No more so than the Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia, which in the dry season, covers almost 1,000 square miles. During the wet season, May to November, the lake swells to 6,000 square miles and is the area’s main source of fish, as they flow from the Mekong River into the lake.
Due to illegal trawling in protected waters and changes in ecology, local, legal fishermen struggle to make a decent living. At one time, the Tonle Sap Lake was one of the largest inland fisheries, but now at least four types of fish have not been caught in recent years and others are smaller and fewer in numbers. Fish from the lake feeds 80 percent of the population and many thousands of tons of fish are exported to neighboring countries.
A string of hydro dams along the Mekong and its tributaries has also impacted problems facing the lake. These dams prevent fish migration and add to the vanishing fish dilemma. Between these additions, climate changes and droughts in recent years, locals fear there may not be enough fish for future generations. Many families living in the area for over 40 years have decided to move away from the place they love to ensure a better future. They are in debt and if they stay, there will come a time when they cannot afford to buy fruit and vegetables and will have to eat less.
In an effort to entice foreign visitors, the Tourism Malaysia group announced its Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign at the most recent ASEAN Tourism Forum. During this event, Tourism Malaysia unveiled its now controversial 2020 logo, which features monkeys, turtles, and the world-famous Petronas Towers.
Soon after this logo was shown to the public, Malaysians took to the Internet to vent their frustrations. Now, this little tourism logo has become a hot political issue for Minister of Tourism and Culture YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz.
There is now a petition on change.org to get rid of the Malaysia Travel 2020 logo and make a new one. As of today, there are over 12,000 online signatures. The goal is to reach 15,000 signatures.
Mustaffa Azizi Idris, a resident of Malaysia, started this online campaign. In his petition, Idris says that the 2020 design is “appalling” and in no way represents Malaysia’s rich history and culture. He orders Tourism Malaysia to scrap this design and make a new logo. Many Malaysians also took to Twitter to express their disgust over this 2020 logo.
Although Idris has support from thousands of locals, it’s not likely his petition will get him anywhere. YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz hasn’t expressed any support for the “STOP Tourism Malaysia” petition.
Over the past few years, Malaysia has been investing a ton of money into its tourism infrastructure. A few of the most popular spots for international tourists include Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Tioman, Langkawi, and Penang.
Jeff Yastine Talks About Investment Opportunities For Companies Looking To Compete With Amazon
Jeff Yastine, the Editor of Total Wealth Insider recently published an article on the rise of competitors who want to stand up against Amazon in the online marketplace and retail sector. The article spoke about how companies are now starting to team up and find new ways to compete with the giant, which thereby leads to better investment potential in the hands of those who are looking to invest into these companies.
One of the things that Jeff Yastine pointed out in the article was the emergence of wide-scale mergers and acquisitions across the online retail sector. Because of the market share that Amazon currently possesses, it becomes difficult for one sole company to go up against them. To be able to take them on effectively, companies need to expand their reach and have more resources at their disposal, which is why seeking out mergers and acquisitions is one of the best ways to achieve this.
In the article, Jeff Yastine gave the example of Google and their likelihood of acquiring one of the big online marketplaces to be able to effectively enter the sector and take on big names like Amazon. He outlined how eBay would likely be the company that Google chooses to acquire since that is one of the more viable companies that would be able to aid them in their efforts against the giant that is Amazon. One of the reasons why a company like Google would want to enter into the online retail sector is because of its firm grasp of every array of the market. The search engine has been trying to expand the range of services it provides, but it isn’t currently equipped well enough to be able to take on something like Amazon.

Ted Bauman realized that he was interested in assisting investors to get in touch with great resources when he was still at the university. The businessman realized that many people were living the life they did not deserve because of the investment decisions they were making. Bauman ventured into the finance world with the primary aim of changing the lives of the investors. At the moment, the finance executive is proud of his numerous accomplishments in the complicated markets, and he is even looking forward to impacting more lives and changing many lives.
Not Long ago, Ted Bauman came up with a publication that has been discussed in several platforms since it was brought into the market. Cryptocurrencies have ventured into the modern market with a huge bang. The modern investor who is always quick to rush to profitable ventures whenever an opportunity presents itself, decided to embrace the idea without thinking about the result. Ted Bauman has sad news for these investors. According to a recent newsletter, the people who have invested in this department might soon be experiencing problems if nothing is done to make the Bitcoin trading platform better.
Unlike all the other forms of payments in the markets such as credit card, the Bitcoin takes a longer time to process. Because there are many people investing in this area, the number of transactions keeps increasing. Bitcoin payments might now be taking more than twenty minutes to complete, something no one is willing to accept. Bitcoins do not process numerous payments at a go like the credit cards. The modern customers have no time to sit and wait for a single transaction to be completed, and this means that traders will have a tough time. Bauman, however, believes that things will work for the better if something is done to speed up Bitcoin transactions.
There’s no excuse for putting your European dream vacation on the backburner this year. Major airlines in dozens of American cities are now offering extremely cheap plane fares to Brussels, Belgium.
So, just how cheap are these discounted tickets? The most you’ll have to pay is in the $500-range. In some cases, these tickets could go as low as $400.
These prices are exceptional values for the busy spring and summer travel seasons. Indeed, the average price for tickets to Europe in the springtime is around $800 and summer travel could be around $1,000.
Some of the major airlines participating in this discount include Lufthansa, Air Canada, Delta, and Air France. Almost all of the major cities in the USA should have these discounted tickets available right now. Unless you’re flying out of New York, however, you’ll most likely have to make one stop before you arrive in Brussels Airport (IATA: BRU).
The dates available for this discount vary depending on what city you’re planning on flying out from. As of today, there are still plenty of tickets available between March – May and a few in August.
Even if people aren’t interested in visiting Brussels, it’s still a good idea to take advantage of these ticket prices. From BRU, travelers can easily book a transfer flight to other major European cities.
Anyone interested in these prices has to act fast before other savvy travelers snatch them up. Travel experts recommend visiting the website Momondo to have the best shot of scoring a few of these cheap flights to Belgium.
Ever thought packing up and moving somewhere across the world only to remember that you don’t have enough money to hop on that next plane out of town? Well, that may not be an issue anymore. Candela, a tiny town 80 miles outside of Naples, Italy, is actually paying people to come and live there. The mayor, Nicola Gatta, is paying people over two thousand dollars just move to Italy. The tiny town used to be home to about 8,000 people. But, it only has about 2,500 now. So, Mayor Gatta needed a plan. And his plan was just to pay people to come and live in his town. The caveat? You are required to find a job once you get there. And, that job must pay a minimum of 7,500 a year. But, that’s not too hard, right? Well, actually it is. You see, there’s a reason the town only has 2,500 people living there. That means that there aren’t many jobs available. Also, that 2,000 Euros isn’t quite what it first seems. For one person, you will make 800. Couples will make 1500. Only if you have a family of five or more will you make that 2,000, just like this article describes: https://nypost.com/2017/10/23/charming-italian-town-will-pay-you-to-move-there/
Still, you may be infatuated with the idea of getting paid to move to this eensey little place an hour from the beach. I know I am. So, maybe you should just take this chance, pack your suitcase, and hop on that next flight.
